Faced with the situation of non-degradable plastic products being increasingly widely used by people, causing pollution, affecting the ecosystem and human health, a group of students from the University of Technical Education - Danang University has created a "Disc press machine from environmentally friendly materials", aiming to create easily degradable products, replacing plastic items.
According to student Dang Huu Tai - a member of the research team, the parts of the press include: hydraulic power and control system, heating system, compressed air cleaning system and ultraviolet (UV) sterilization system.
When the machine is started, the heating system starts working, the thermostat will increase the temperature to about 120-180 degrees Celsius in 60-90 seconds.
Next, the machine will clean the raw material with high pressure air to push the dirt out. After that, the product is shaped by hydraulic machine, piston creates pressure, cutting, combined with high temperature. The finished product will be put into the ultraviolet (UV) sterilization box.
According to Dr. Bui He Thong - lecturer of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, University of Technical Education - University of Danang, researching and designing a machine to press cups and plates from available materials such as coconut bracts, areca bracts, banana leaves, lotus leaves, almond leaves, etc. not only solves the problem of consuming green products, but also helps develop a sustainable economy.
This source of raw materials is easy to find in the Central provinces in general and Da Nang in particular, it is both low cost and easily biodegradable, creating an effective resource reuse cycle. The research, design and manufacture of "Environmentally friendly dish press" not only provides technological solutions but also promotes a green lifestyle in the community.
