On October 24, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (VHTTDL) in coordination with the Department of Culture and Sports of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province opened a training course on the selection, training and evaluation of sports athletes for lecturers and teachers of sports training facilities nationwide, held in Vung Tau city.
The training course attracted more than 250 lecturers, teachers, and coaches nationwide to attend. Of these, more than 60 coaches and sports officials from Ba Ria - Vung Tau province participated.
According to the plan, the training program will take place over 3 days, from October 24 to 26. Trainees will be introduced to the plan, key tasks, and solutions for developing Vietnamese sports until 2030, with a vision to 2045; methods for evaluating the training programs of national team athletes; application of science and technology in selecting, assessing, and training athletes; and new issues in modern sports training.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Loan - Deputy Director of the Training Department of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the training course not only aims to help coaches and sports managers acquire and update new knowledge, but also provides an opportunity to exchange work experiences between localities and training centers.
According to Mr. Huynh Duc Dung - Deputy Director of the Department of Culture and Sports of the province, the large number of students registering to participate shows the great need to be equipped, updated and practically applied in management work in the field of physical education and sports.
"The topics are built in close connection with basic practice and will equip students with basic knowledge and skills in selecting, training and evaluating athletes; this is a very important step in training sports athletes," said Mr. Huynh Duc Dung.
