On September 5, in the solemn atmosphere of the opening ceremony of the 2025 - 2026 school year, the University of Law - Hue University welcomed more than 1,400 new students from all over the country. Amid the joy of attending school, the story of the new student of Nguyen Thai Binh University, nicknamed the "hat-trick leader" of the ancient capital of Hue, has touched the hearts of many people.
Nguyen Thai Binh, a former 12th grade student majoring in Mathematics 1, Quoc Hoc High School for the Gifted in Hue, is the valedictorian of Hue City and ranked 4th nationwide in the 2025 high school graduation exam with a total score of 38.25/40 (Math 9.00; Literature 9.50; Physics 9.75; Chemistry 10.00).
Previously, Binh was the valedictorian of the 10th grade entrance exam in Hue with a Literature score of 9.5. Not only outstanding in academic achievements, in the 2022 - 2023 school year, he and his research group won the Second Prize in the National Science - Technology Competition with the theme: "Smart phone abuse in high school students: Current situation and prevention methods".
With outstanding achievements, Thai Binh was admitted directly to the University of Law - Hue University and received a full-time scholarship. My friends affectionately call me "captain of the hat" because I was the one who won the position of captain three times at important milestones of my study journey.
At the opening ceremony on the same day, Nguyen Thai Binh graduated and was awarded a full-time scholarship worth 30 million VND by the school. What is special and touching is that I decided to take out 10 million VND from them to share with new students in difficult circumstances but with a strong will to strive to study.
