Honored and proud
On the night of January 1 and early morning of September 2, on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street (Hanoi), more than 20 volunteer students from the Hanoi Open University Youth Union participated in supporting and serving the celebration, parade, parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and National Day September 2-9.
Under the night lights, among the busy crowd, the voluntary green shirt became prominent. Young men and women in their twenties are busy with the task of supporting functional forces in operating traffic on the main road, regulating traffic, keeping traffic flow smooth and safe for all people.
Selected from tens of thousands of students registered in Hanoi, Kim Thi Hong Anh (from Phu Tho) - a student at the Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology, Hanoi Open University, has passed the admission and interview rounds to become an official volunteer of the Hanoi Youth Union, serving the activities of A80.
Anh said that before participating in performing official tasks at the Pre-Show, General Recruitment and National Day celebrations, students had gone through training sessions at Hang Day Stadium.
The training content revolves around skills to support security and order, ensure environmental hygiene, escape instructions, move victims, first aid... In addition, volunteers are also given some special notes when performing tasks, especially collective behavior and discipline.

The second-year student said that today her parents also went from their hometown to Hanoi to watch the parade. After taking her parents to the viewing location on Van Cao Street, the 20-year-old girl was present on Nguyen Thai Hoc Street to perform her duty from 7am.
"Having to perform the task for many consecutive hours is sometimes very tiring, but every time a parade of infantry passes by and sees a sign of people in red shirts with happy yellow stars heading towards the convoy, I see all the fatigue disappear. I will always remember that authentic and proud scene. Her parents are also very proud that their daughter is served at the country's grand festival," Anh shared.
On many streets with large crowds watching parades and parades, volunteer forces also directly coordinated with the police to create "soft fences" to stabilize order and ensure safety for the people.
They also support people with health problems who need first aid and garbage collection after the event ends.
"When at work, we are all absolutely focused to complete the task well, trying to overcome difficulties in weather and circumstances," said Pham Dinh Van, a second-year student at the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics, Hanoi Open University.
Responsible, thoughtful and serious
During the A80 event, 8,800 volunteers from the capital were carefully selected from 43 universities, colleges and communes and wards in Hanoi, performing many different groups of tasks.
The entire volunteer force mentioned above is carefully selected in terms of political qualities, ethics, health and academic achievements. Not only that, some volunteer groups also have good foreign language proficiency to carry out foreign tasks.
During the implementation of the task, the A80 volunteer force received high appreciation from the coordinating units.
Comrade Nguyen Duc Thuan, an officer of Hanoi City Police, assessed that the students work very responsibly, thoughtfully and seriously.

During each shift, they are always patient, kind to guide, answer questions from people, and coordinate smoothly with functional forces to ensure safety and maintain order in areas with many people watching.
Thousands of volunteers with a sense of responsibility and national pride have made an important contribution to the success of A80 activities, leaving a deep impression in the hearts of the people and international friends.
