The People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone (An Giang) has just held a conference to summarize the 2024-2025 school year and deploy directions and tasks for the 2025-2026 school year.
Regarding the scale of the school and classroom network, there are a total of 32 schools managed by the Department of Education and Training (now the People's Committee of Phu Quoc Special Zone) including preschool, primary and secondary schools. In addition, there is 1 private primary school; 10 schools and 48 private kindergartens and preschools. Children aged 6-14 who have graduated (from grades 1 to 9) have reached 99.96%.
In the 2024-2025 school year, the whole industry has 1,215 employees (excluding non-resident contracts), compared to the same period, there was an increase of 56 employees. Organize the review and arrangement of the teaching staff to ensure regulations on the number and standards of teachers for all levels of education. Resolutely handle the practice of contracting teachers for many years without recruiting local civil servants.
However, due to the need for life, many people have moved, continuously creating a local shortage of classrooms at some schools, affecting the overall quality of education in the industry.
In the past school year, the education sector applied many software to serve personnel management, financial management, professional management, document issuance, etc. Especially during the time of online teaching, teachers in the whole sector applied teaching software to impart knowledge to students.

In the 2025-2026 school year, the Phu Quoc education sector has prepared well the conditions to effectively implement the tasks of the new school year. Continue to implement the 2018 General Education Program, implement Project 06 on Primary School Digital Transcripts and implement 100% STEM education in educational institutions. Propose that the Provincial People's Committee continue to consider assigning additional staff according to the current status of school-based development.
On this occasion, 32 individuals with achievements in education and training from the 2019-2020 school year to the 2023-2024 school year, contributing to the cause of building socialism and defending the Fatherland, received the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
