Nghe An - On October 19, the provincial Department of Education and Training held a launching ceremony for the campaign "Nghe An students say no to phones during class".

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Thai Van Thanh - Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province; Mr. Nguyen Chi Cong - Permanent Vice President of the Provincial Labor Federation; Mr. Dang Van Hai - Chairman of the Education Trade Union; and representatives of local government leaders and related departments and offices.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Hai - Chairman of Nghe An Education Trade Union - said that with the development of the 4.0 technology revolution, the Internet, smart devices such as mobile phones and tablets have become an important part of people's lives and it is also strongly affecting the school education environment.

Smart devices have helped students search and access information and documents quickly; diversify learning resources, effectively supporting learning, research, connection and sharing.

However, the temptation of phones makes it easy for many students to get caught up in activities unrelated to studying.

To build a safe, healthy and developing educational environment, minimizing the negative impacts of the Internet and mobile phones on learning outcomes, psychological, physical and personality development of students.

The Department of Education and Training and the Nghe An Education Trade Union jointly organized the campaign "Nghe An schools say no to phones during class" with 5 purposes, requirements; 5 tasks and solutions, with the main goal: High school students do not use phones during regular classes, extra classes at school, including recess.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province Thai Van Thanh said that limiting students' use of phones in the classroom is necessary, but it is also necessary to come up with solutions so that parents can contact students in special cases.

Although giving up the habit of using social networks and phones is not easy for students, the head of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An province believes that after the launching ceremony, students will have more spirit and motivation to overcome themselves and aim for success in the future.

For teachers, the Director of the Department of Education and Training of the province recommends that teachers promote the pioneering, exemplary, and serious nature of cadres, teachers, and staff in using phones at school to set an example for students.
