In mid-April, prolonged heat caused many rice areas in Ban Pau village, Duong Quy commune (Lao Cai province) to fall into a serious water shortage situation.
About 30ha of rice is in an important growing stage facing the risk of reduced yield, even total loss if not supplied with water in time.

Faced with the urgent situation, on April 14, 2026, Duong Quy Commune Police quickly deployed a drought prevention support plan.
The force mobilized 2 pumps and 4 officers and soldiers to directly go to the fields, coordinating with people to organize water supply from sources to the fields.

Under the scorching sun, working conditions with a lot of mud, the operation of machinery faces many difficulties. However, officers and soldiers still stick to the fields, maintaining continuous water pumping operations for many hours, ensuring that water is brought back to the fields in the fastest way.

Thanks to timely intervention, nearly 30ha of rice has been "quenched", maintaining its growth capacity, minimizing damage caused by drought. Many households cannot hide their excitement when the rice area was saved at the right time, keeping hope for the crop.
The practical action of Duong Quy Commune Police not only contributes to protecting agricultural production but also clearly demonstrates the role of forces sticking to the grassroots, close to the people, and ready to support people in difficult times.
Thereby, contributing to stabilizing life and ensuring social security in the locality in increasingly complex weather conditions.
