On June 13, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that the "Digital Summer with VNeID" campaign is being implemented synchronously throughout the province to support people to access and use digital utilities and online public services effectively.
The campaign is launched by the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order (Ministry of Public Security), aiming to bring digital transformation closer to people, especially in remote, isolated, and ethnic minority areas.
Reality shows that many administrative procedures in the past caused people to spend a lot of time traveling and preparing papers. However, when using the VNeID application, many procedures can be performed quickly right on the phone.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ha (Hong Tan residential group, Yen Bai ward) said that it used to take one to two days to complete the residence information confirmation procedure. Now, after being instructed by police officers to use VNeID, she only takes about 5 minutes to complete it.
I find it very convenient, saving time and travel costs," Ms. Ha shared.
However, the digital transformation process still faces many difficulties. Currently, the whole province still has more than 370,000 citizens who have been issued ID cards but do not have electronic identification accounts and nearly 80,000 accounts have been collected but have not been activated.
To overcome this situation, Lao Cai Provincial Police have established working groups to directly go to residential areas, village cultural houses, and residential groups to guide people to install, activate and use VNeID.
Captain Hoang The Anh, Yen Bai Ward Police, said that the working groups focus on supporting the elderly, people with little exposure to technology and vulnerable groups to help everyone access digital services.
The companionship of the police force has received positive response from the people. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh (Nguyen Thai Hoc 1 residential group, Yen Bai ward) said that being directly guided helps her easily use the utilities on VNeID without having to travel many times.
According to Senior Lieutenant Colonel Le Tien Manh - Deputy Head of the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Lao Cai Provincial Police, citizens who do not have ID cards or have not registered or activated electronic identification accounts need to come to the nearest police agency for support as soon as possible.
The use of electronic identification not only helps to carry out administrative procedures quickly but also creates conditions for people to send reflections and recommendations on security and order more conveniently and accurately.
The "Digital Summer with VNeID" campaign is contributing to raising awareness about digital transformation in the community, gradually forming the habit of using online public services, towards building a modern administration, serving people better and better.
