On June 7, information from the Nghe An Provincial Youth Union said that in response to World Environment Day 2026, union members and youth in many localities in the province simultaneously launched campaigns to implement practical projects and tasks to protect the environment, respond to climate change, build new rural areas and civilized urban areas.
In Hai Loc commune, more than 200 union members, youth and local people participated in the launching ceremony at Cua Hien beach. Immediately after the launching ceremony, forces simultaneously launched a campaign to collect waste, clean up the beach, coastal defense roads, commune administrative center and many key traffic routes. Union members also cleared bushes, cleared sewers, handled waste accumulation points, and cared for flower streets and green trees.
In the highlands of Muong Xen, more than 50 union members and youth participated in the environmental protection movement. Young people actively collected garbage, cleared bushes, cleaned roads, streams and public areas. In a short time, union members and local forces cleaned up many streams and canals in the area.
In Dien Chau commune, youth union members organized a general cleaning of Dien Thanh beach area and the 36m road, collecting tons of garbage, returning a green - clean - beautiful space to the beach, serving people and tourists.
Not only focusing on cleaning up, young people in many localities also linked activities to respond to World Environment Day with the implementation of the 2026 Summer Youth Volunteer Campaign.
In Tan Phu and Tan Ky communes, after the launching ceremony, youth union members and local forces simultaneously cleaned up the environment, cleared trees and grass, cared for flower beds, collected and treated waste in residential areas.
In particular, the Tan Ky Commune Youth Union coordinated with the grassroots Youth Union of Prison No. 3 (Department C10, Ministry of Public Security) to implement many meaningful projects such as dredging internal field irrigation canals, hanging flags on the national flag route and building the "Entertainment Area for Youth and Children" project in Dong Thai hamlet.
From specific actions such as picking up trash on the beach, clearing the flow, taking care of green trees to building models to reduce plastic waste, union members and youth throughout the province are contributing to spreading the message of environmental protection through practical actions.
