The film opens with a free trip in the "van life" style - a travel trend that is being loved by Western youth. However, everything quickly turns into a nightmare after two characters accidentally witness a tragic accident that kills the driver on the spot.
From then on, they are constantly followed by a mysterious force throughout the journey. The quiet night street space, the feeling of being hunted and the invisible fear create a tense atmosphere throughout the film.
The notable point of the project also lies in the production crew. The film is directed by director André Øvredal - the man behind many famous horror works such as The Autopsy of Jane Doe or Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark.
The Norwegian director said this is the scariest film he has ever made. According to André Øvredal, the combination of a journey film motif with supernatural haunting elements creates a different experience compared to many horror films today.
