In a conversation with MC Minh Ngoc, singer Minh Sang revealed the trophy of the "Love Storyteller" contest in 2019. This is a souvenir he always cherishes because it marks a major turning point in his career.
Participating in the contest not only requires singing ability but also requires sophisticated acting, especially with Bolero music - a genre that he was not really familiar with before.
He shared: “I thought and hesitated a lot before participating. Every day, I had to research each musician to listen again and learn about those songs, to better understand the thoughts and feelings that the author wanted to convey in those songs, to convey them correctly.”
Minh Sang said that choosing a song for the contest was a big challenge for him. Every time he faced a topic about a musician, he spent time researching, listening and choosing a song that suited his voice. After that, he researched carefully and practiced hard to show off his perfect voice, while fully conveying the song through his own weaknesses.
The song “Rung la thay chua” by musician Huynh Anh, in the first competition night was the most memorable memory for him. The male singer said that the pressure came not only from the singing but also from the acting script, with constantly changing emotions, he even had to cry and suffer. Until now, the feeling of excitement and emotion still lingers in him, creating an unforgettable memory.
Although Minh Sang did not have high expectations, just hoping to perform well, he was surprised to receive the highest award and compliments from the judges. That became a great motivation to help him become more confident and passionate in the following competition nights. He said: "The later nights, the more I fought and became more passionate."
