Born in Quang Binh in a family with a musical tradition, My Le (real name Hoang Thi My Le) was well trained at the Hue Conservatory of Music with a double major in cello and vocal music.
At the end of the 1990s, she started a professional singing career in Ho Chi Minh City, winning many music awards before becoming a familiar singer to the audience.
With a series of songs such as "Va tr tr trai dem", "Va mua den", "Da nhau mot nu cuoi", My Le quickly established herself as one of the outstanding singers of Vpop. The image of a "anh tai ca" in the MVs helped her position her own style, different from the music market at that time.
Sharing with MC Minh Ngoc, the female singer said that many big hits came to her with surprises. And the rain coming is a brilliant effect that I did not expect, she said. The song later became a boost to help My Le shine at the program "My Love Song", bringing her name closer to television audiences.
There was a period when My Le's song was heavily chosen by the contestants on the music program. She recounted that one competition night, singer Tung Duong humorously commented that "it's more like My Le's live show than the competition night", because the number of songs she sang was too much. Those were the moments that made the female singer proud of her mark in Vietnamese music life.
According to My Le, academics are the "sustainable weapon" of artists. The trained platform helps singers have a civilized musical mindset, choose the right works and build a long-term style, even sometimes making the audience narrow. In return, a clear image strategy and a serious working attitude will create a lasting impression.
Currently, she is aiming for a "more refined and profound" musical beauty, no longer pressured to prove her position. My Le said that she is about to introduce a series of albums Vol.1, Vol.2, Vol.3, notably the concert project "O'mileh - The unsung voice" with non-listening music, through the cello. The female singer called this the time when she returned to her deepest musical experience, and expressed her desire to sing a duet with two young singers Van Mai Huong and Lam Bao Ngoc.
