Responding to the Film Week celebrating the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day, at Beta Cinemas Tran Quang Khai cinema complex (HCMC) there are three free screenings for audiences.

To celebrate the 79th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs' Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2026), the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism assigned the Cinema Department to coordinate with localities and units to organize the Commemorative Film Week from July 21 to 28 nationwide.

Within the framework of the program, Beta Cinemas Tran Quang Khai (HCMC) serves audiences with free screenings. Three films were screened including "Those Who Write Legends" which was screened on July 22, "Road Through the Forest" on the morning of July 23 and "Don't Burn" on the morning of July 24.

These are all typical works of Vietnamese revolutionary cinema, recreating the fierce periods of war, while honoring the courage, solidarity and sacrifice of previous generations for national independence.

In which, "Those Who Write Legends" is inspired by a true story about the petroleum soldiers on the Truong Son route, telling the journey of building a system of oil pipelines across the battlefield during the years of resistance war against the US.

Crossing the Forest Road" takes viewers back to the Southern battlefield in 1967, following the soldiers, doctors, art troupes and writers to overcome many challenges amidst bombs and bullets to complete their mission.

Meanwhile, "Don't Burn" is adapted from the diary of doctor, martyr Dang Thuy Tram. The film depicts the life, ideals and sacrifices of a young female doctor on the battlefield, while conveying messages about patriotism, humanity and the desire for peace.

According to the Organizing Committee, the program provides free services to veterans, people with meritorious services to the revolution, policy families, armed forces, union members, youth, students and a large number of people. The activity aims to educate patriotic traditions, spread the morality of "When drinking water, remember the source", and bring historical films closer to the public, especially the young generation.

Beta Cinemas representative Tran Quang Khai said that after opening free ticket distribution, two out of three screenings quickly ran out of tickets, showing the audience's interest in historical films and cultural activities of gratitude.
