Mobile film screening brings "Red Rain", "Burning Grass"... to the people of the highlands

Lao Cai - In March, dozens of mobile film screenings were organized in highland communes, attracting thousands of students to participate.

When night fell, the small yard in the middle of the highland village suddenly became busier than usual. Older people, young children, young people... all brought chairs, tarpaulins, eagerly waiting for the movie to begin.

For many ethnic minority people, this is not only a movie screening, but also a rare opportunity to access a rich spiritual and cultural life.

In March, the Lao Cai Culture and Cinema Center organized 45 mobile film screenings, serving more than 11,000 audiences in 9 highland, remote and isolated communes.

Unable to hide her joy, Ms. Mua Thi Do (Mu Cang Chai commune) shared: "There are few conditions to watch movies here, so every time a crew comes to show, people go very crowded. Both watching movies and listening to propaganda, everyone finds it useful.

According to the Lao Cai Provincial Culture and Cinema Center, vehicles carrying projectors and screens have overcome steep mountain passes to bring cinema to difficult villages and hamlets.

This film screening activity is implemented in conjunction with the task of propagating important political events. The content is skillfully integrated through feature films, documentaries and the pre-screening loudspeaker system, helping people understand and remember easily.

From March 9 to 22, film screening teams were present in many villages and hamlets in mountainous communes such as Mu Cang Chai, Khao Mang, Lao Chai, Yen Thanh, Cam Nhan, Thac Ba, Hanh Phuc, Tram Tau, Van Chan. Each screening point attracted a large number of people to participate, creating a warm atmosphere of community cultural activities.

The selected films all have profound content, praising the Party, Uncle Ho, revolutionary traditions such as "The Tunnels - Sun in the Dark", "The Scent of Burning Grass", "The Prophet", "Red Rain", "Death Battle in the Air", "Ho Chi Minh - Portrait of a Person"...

Besides, there are documentaries and reports on drug prevention and control, contributing to warning and educating highland youth about the dangers of social evils.

Giang A Pao - an 8th grade student in Lao Chai commune - excitedly said: "I like watching movies about Uncle Ho and the soldiers the most. The movie'Red Rain' that I have longed for, is now being shown. After watching it, I understand more about the sacrifice of the previous generation to strive to study better".

Not only stopping at serving entertainment needs, film screenings also contribute to bringing information and policies closer to people in an intuitive and vivid form. Thereby, raising awareness and sense of civic responsibility, especially in law compliance.
