Kieu Chinh continues to make her mark at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival when appearing on the red carpet in a traditional Vietnamese ao dai. Despite her busy schedule, the female artist still maintains an elegant demeanor and outstanding spirit after more than 60 years of artistic activities.
Images of Kieu Chinh in ao dai at the world's leading film event quickly received attention from international media. Many viewers assessed that her appearance contributed to promoting the image of Vietnamese culture at Cannes this year.
Accompanying Kieu Chinh is the Chrysalis film crew including producer Daniel K. Winn, Randall J. Slavin, director J. Robert Schulz and actor Samuel An. The film crew participates in introducing the project within the framework of Marché du Film - the largest and most prestigious film market of Cannes.

According to Daniel K. Winn, participating in Cannes is an opportunity for the film to connect with international distribution partners and reach a wider audience worldwide.
On the sidelines of the film festival, the film crew also attended ISuccess Awards 2026 - a series of independent events taking place in the Riviera region, France. Here, Kieu Chinh was awarded the "Best Actress" award, director J. Robert Schulz received the "Best Director" award and Daniel K. Winn won the "Best Artist" award.
Previously, "Chrysalis (Cocoon)" was also honored with the title "Creative Vision 2026" at Cannes Prestige Summit 2026.
The film is inspired by Daniel K. Winn's childhood during the war in Vietnam. The content revolves around memories, healing and family affection. Most of the setting is made in Vietnam to realistically recreate the cultural space and life of the characters.
According to Daniel K. Winn, the work is a journey to face the past and childhood losses. The emotional center of the film is the relationship between the main character and the grandmother - a symbol of tolerance and unconditional love.
In addition to Kieu Chinh, the film also features the participation of many Vietnamese artists such as Le Anh Huy, Lan Thy, Tien Pham, Trinh Tu Trung, Hieu Hien and Phi Phung. Two child actors Nguyen Vu Uy Nhan and Nguyen Thanh Tung also participate in the project.
