Commemorating the 100th anniversary of Phan Chau Trinh's death (1926-2026), a series of commemorative activities will take place on March 24 at Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture. In the main art program named "Phan Chau Trinh - Immortal Enlightenment Heritage", singer Duyen Quynh will perform the song "Continuing the Peace Story" in the ending, closing the memorial night with a message aimed at the young generation.
Sharing with reporters, the female singer said that she is honored and proud to be present in such a meaningful program. For Duyen Quynh, bringing songs with meaningful messages to students and young people is always the spirit she has wanted to implement for many years.
Duyen Quynh hopes that her participation will contribute a small part of the effort to the program.
In addition to Duyen Quynh, musician Nguyen Van Chung and young singers such as Minh Sang, La Moon... along with group 135 and about 200 students from Ho Chi Minh City University of Culture will also participate in the program.
Previously, on March 9, the program organizers announced the signing ceremony of cooperation and announced a series of activities to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Phan Chau Trinh's death. The series of activities includes scientific conferences, digital exhibitions, documentaries and art programs, aiming to bring his ideological heritage closer to the public, especially the young generation in the modern social context.
The activities are built according to four main components. First is a scientific conference with the theme "Phan Chau Trinh and the spirit of "Only learning": the ideology of enlightenment, education and national development in the context of globalization and the AI era".
The conference is expected to gather researchers in many fields to discuss and re-approach Phan Chau Trinh's reform and enlightenment ideas from an interdisciplinary perspective.
In addition, a digital exhibition with the theme "Enlightenment and Dialogue" is also being prepared, introducing documents and content according to five dialogue axes including: with the tradition of academics - Hue court; with the colonial government; with Phan Chau Trinh himself; with the contemporary public; and with contemporary society.
The organizers also said that a documentary film about 25-30 minutes long called "Phan Chau Trinh - The Torch of Enlightenment and the Symphony of the Century" is being made, in order to recreate the life and activities of Phan Chau Trinh.
In addition to academic and documentary activities, the program also has a synthetic art section staged with the theme "Phan Chau Trinh - Immortal Enlightenment Heritage". The program combines singing, dancing, music, seminars with images and documents to convey the message "opening people's knowledge - revitalizing people's spirit - post-people's livelihood".
