Not only becoming the best-selling Vietnamese horror film of all time, "Quỷ nhập tràng" also created a strong effect on audiences thanks to exploiting the spiritual material of the Mekong Delta. That success is the motivation for the producer to continue developing part 2, this time following the prequel direction to solve the unsolved mysteries.
According to director Pom Nguyen, the idea for the prequel was cherished from the beginning of the first part. "If part 1 is a story about marital love, then part 2 delves deeper into family affection and karma. This is the root of tragedy, where everything begins," he shared.
The film's content focuses on the character Minh Nhu, clarifying the family past, the origin of tragedy and the connection between Nhu and Quang - the two central characters of the series.
The return of the trio Kha Nhu, Quang Tuan and Van Dung continues to be considered a "box office guarantee". Kha Nhu said that the audience's affection is the biggest reason why the actors decided to accompany part 2.

In terms of production, the movie "Quỷ nhập tràng 2" has been comprehensively upgraded. The crew invested billions of VND in scenery, of which the ancient house scene alone cost about 1 billion VND and took more than a month of construction. The total cost for the scenery system exceeded 2 billion VND, including building a fabric factory and dyeing lake - iconic spaces in the film.
The costumes are also given special attention when 70% of the costumes are newly tailored and handcrafted to make them old. There are a total of about 500–600 costumes for more than 10 main and supporting characters. 3D scanning makeup technology is applied for the first time to create more realistic and haunting ghostly details on the big screen.
Besides, the special poster of the film attracts attention with the image of Minh Nhu struggling amidst red fabrics, followed by evil entities clinging tightly behind. The image is a metaphor for the profession of journalism - where people cannot escape the consequences of past choices.
Not only stopping at the scare element, the movie "Quỷ nhập tràng 2" aims to exploit the psychological depth and karma message, opening up the ambition to build a "Vietnamese horror universe" with its own identity, combining folk culture and modern cinematic language.
The movie is scheduled to premiere on March 6, 2026.
