The film chose a familiar setting in the Mekong Delta but put there a "love flare" with many knots, where human emotions are constantly hit between love, desire and hurt.
At the center of the story is the rustic love of Cho (Vo Dien Gia Huy) and Thuong (Tram Anh). The first frames introduce the young couple in the peaceful countryside space, with a hesitant look, sincere gestures and simple promises. However, that peace was quickly broken when Tham (Kha Nhu) appeared.
Although he knew Cho had a lover, Tham still publicly pursued and chose to face emotions instead of retreating. The way this character acts creates many situations that are both charming and controversial, turning the simple relationship into a messy one.
The story became more complicated when Hai Mau (La Thanh) also had feelings for Tham. From here, the film expands from the love triangle to the overlapping relationship between four and four, where no one is completely right or wrong. Each character is caught up in a separate emotional whirlwind, forced to choose between reason and heart.
Sharing about the role, Vo Dien Gia Huy believes that the relationship in the movie "Who loves who loves" is not simply a "coup" of love that is often seen on screen. According to him, this is a story about lonely people who are hungry for love and choice. Every character has a reason to act, and that is what makes the story closer to life, the actor said.

From another perspective, Kha Nhu believes that the film does not exploit the fierce love struggle but focuses on human factors. Tham's character is built with many layers of emotions, where love is both a support and the cause of tragedy. It is this turmoil that creates the bi very-life comedy of the film, the actress shared.
As a director and producer, Thu Trang chose the word "love" as the emotional axis throughout the film. Love in Love with Whom You Love is not told in dramatic climaxes, but in rusticity, slowness and very Western times.
The film is expected to have a special screening from December 31, 2025 and officially hit theaters nationwide from January 1, 2026.
