"Tet Ve" is a song that records the emotions and feelings of a child living far from home, far from his homeland, wishing to return to his family and relatives during the Tet holiday. This music product also marks a return, a stronger start in 2025 with many new projects on Duong Quoc Hung's musical path.
Living and working in Ho Chi Minh City for about 15 years now, for Duong Quoc Hung, every Tet season the most obvious feeling is the desire to return to Hanoi to feel the family love, enjoy the warmth and reunion with parents and siblings.
“That feeling is very genuine. Not only Hung but also the common feeling of many people. Because of those feelings, and because the meaning of Tet is so sacred to every Vietnamese person, Hung decided to come up with the idea and make the MV Tet Ve. In the MV, there will be lyrics and images recording moments and memories with family on special occasions of the year,” singer-songwriter Duong Quoc Hung shared.
The MV Tet Ve was made by the male artist at the end of 2024. Throughout the MV is the image of Duong Quoc Hung carrying a peach blossom branch - a symbol of spring, passing through beautiful scenes and famous cultural and historical landmarks of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi.
The special MV recreates the simple, warm, and familiar Vietnamese family space with the chosen setting being the days before Tet with its bustling pace of life. Images of emotional reunions, warm hugs from parents to children, and siblings to each other; scenes of people wrapping banh chung, scenes of the whole family sitting together waiting for banh chung to be cooked, scenes of waiting for New Year's Eve, giving lucky money to relatives... evoke many warm and close emotions.
The MV has delicate camera angles, uses warm tones, and natural light to create a lively, intimate space.
Duong Quoc Hung said he hopes the MV will not only be an emotional story of people far from home, but also promote the image and beauty of Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, which, although modern, still retain their cultural, traditional and historical beauty to many people, including international tourists.
“Bringing Tet home is the message Hung wants to convey in this latest work. No matter where we go, no matter what happens, family is a warm place that always welcomes us with open arms. It is the place that inspires, gives us strength and faith to walk firmly on the path of life,” the male singer added.
