The film "Tu Hai Phat Tai" (6 episodes, directors: Nguyen Minh Chung and Nguyen Hoang Anh, screenwriter: VieON) tells the story of the year-end days of a once-famous singing troupe in a region.
Before the new year, the whole crew struggled with the worry of “making ends meet” and had no shows. Difficulties piled up when the crew leader suddenly retired, leaving his position to his son An (played by Gin Tuan Kiet).
With a bustling and joyful atmosphere, the trailer for Tu Hai Phat Tai opens with Tam's (played by Vo Tan Phat) affirmation: "More than 93.75% of the elderly at this stage believe in spirituality". Wishing for Tu Hai to rise up, the leader puts his faith in his son and the members.
It seemed like a smooth start, but then the main singers all left, causing the group to fall into crisis. An and Tam set out to find a main singer. From housekeeper Diu (played by Tam Trieu Dang) to famous singer Lady Dao (played by Jun Vu), everyone auditioned. They even recruited a "beautiful but stiff" backup singer, Luan (played by Vo Canh).
It was not easy, the singers were invited but were not happy, the members had not yet shown their talents. With an optimistic spirit and the goal of "smiling to the fullest, shining all year", after many difficulties, everyone was happy, giving each other warm hugs at the year-end party.
According to Vo Tan Phat, Tam and An are parallel characters, cooperating throughout events and interacting with other characters. The actor hopes that the duo's "chemistry" will make the audience feel somewhat secure when enjoying the film.
