    Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts in collaboration with artist Mai Thi Kim Uyen (Uyen Mai) organizes an exhibition called Stars at Night

    The exhibition will last until September 16, 2025, with 54 lacquer works.
    Sinh nam 1986 tai Quang Nam, hien song va sang tac tai Pleiku (Gia Lai), Mai Thi Kim Uyen tot nghiep Dai hoc Nghe thuat Hue, chuyen nganh su pham my thuat. Sau nhieu nam sang tac, chi chon son mai lam huong di chinh, ket hop but phap son dau hien dai voi ky thuat son ta truyen thong, tao nen hieu ung tinh te va giau bieu cam.
    Born in 1986 in Quang Nam, currently living and composing in Pleiku (Gia Lai), Mai Thi Kim Uyen graduated from Hue University of Arts, majoring in fine arts Pedagogy. After many years of creating, she chose lacquer as her main direction, combining modern oil painting pens with traditional Chinese painting techniques, creating a sophisticated and expressive effect.

    This work continues to exploit the image of women - the theme throughout her works - through three approaches.
    Thu nhat, nu chu the nho be truoc thien nhien va cuoc doi, nhu trong Thinh khong, Co gai va chiec thang, Ve nha. Thu hai, hinh tuong nguoi nu tro nen bao trum, khang dinh ban nga, the hien o Toi di tim toi, Long gio, Mat troi do. Thu ba, ranh gioi giua nu chu the va hien thuc dan xoa nhoa, co the thay o Tu do, Chuyen minh, Tai sinh. Cac giai doan nay khong tuan tu ma song hanh, phan anh dong chay cam xuc da chieu cua tac gia.
    First, the female subject is small in front of nature and life, like in Thinh A, Co Nhi Va L thang, Ve Trang. Second, the image of a woman becomes overwhelming, affirming her identity, expressed in I Go for Me, The Wind and the Red Sun. Third, the line between female subjects and reality is gradually fading away, as seen in freedom, Transformation, Rebirth. These stages are not consecutive but go in parallel, reflecting the author's multi-dimensional emotional flow.
    Hoa si Ho Thi Xuan Thu nhan xet: “Tranh cua Kim Uyen uyen chuyen, khong pho truong ky thuat ma tap trung vao cam xuc. Nguoi xem khong chi thay hinh tuong co gai dep, ma con thay su lam chu cau chuyen ma hoa si gui gam.”
    Painter Ho Thi Xuan Thu commented: Kim Uyen's paintings are graceful, not showing off techniques but focusing on emotions. Viewers not only see the image of a beautiful girl, but also see the mastery of the story that the artist conveys.
    Tien si Luu Hong Son (Bao tang Van hoa cac dan toc Gia Lai) cho rang tranh cua Mai Thi Kim Uyen mang dam tinh yeu voi Tay Nguyen, tu canh sac thien nhien den nhung khat khao sau kin cua nguoi nu. Ong nhan manh: “Tac pham vua du doi vua thi vi, chua dung ve dep cua mot the gioi nhieu doi cuc, dong thoi cham toi linh hon tu do, manh liet cua vung dat cao nguyen.”
    Dr. Luu Hong Son (Pleiku Museum) believes that Mai Thi Kim Uyen's paintings carry a deep love for the Central Highlands, from natural scenery to the deep desires of women. He emphasized: "The work is both fierce and poetic, containing the beauty of a world of many conflicts, while touching the free and intense soul of the highland region."
    Dang o giai doan chin muoi, Mai Thi Kim Uyen hua hen con tiep tuc mang den nhung kham pha thu vi trong nghe thuat son mai.
    While in the ripe stages, Mai Thi Kim Uyen promises to continue to bring interesting discoveries in lacquer art.
