On July 29, the producer of "Karaoke Murder" announced the first images of the movie. Among them, Van Dung and Doan Thien An are two faces that received attention.
Van Dung plays Mrs. Thuy, and Doan Thien An plays Tam. According to Production Director Mai Bao Ngoc, Van Dung is a choice that the crew has thought of since building the character. The role requires the ability to handle humorous elements, while also showing psychological developments related to the central case.
Ms. Van Dung has the ability to act in comedy, feel rhythm and experience handling character psychology. When she heard the idea, she agreed to participate because she saw that this is a project with a different color from previous roles," said the film crew representative.
Van Dung has many years of experience in theater and television. The female artist is familiar to audiences through the program "Year-End Meeting" and many TV series broadcast during prime time.
In recent years, she has expanded her activities into cinema. In 2023, Van Dung appeared in the horror movie "Quỷ cẩu", playing the role of Mrs. Thuy. The work achieved a revenue of over 100 billion VND at the Vietnamese box office.
Meanwhile, Doan Thien An came from beauty contests and was crowned Miss Grand Vietnam 2022. After her term, she participated in a number of film projects, including "Billion Dollar Kiss" and "See You on A Solar Eclipse Day".
In "Karaoke Murder", Thien An continues to take on the female lead role. This is the first time she has acted with Van Dung, and also collaborated with actors Dai Nghia, Thanh Son, Quynh Ly, Ta Lam, Trinh Thao, Tuyen Map and Tieu Bao Quoc.
Karaoke Murder" is director Hoang Le's debut film. Vo Thanh Hoa takes on the role of creative director.
