On October 27, the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promotion of Education awarded 1.64 billion VND in scholarships to 318 students who have overcome difficulties in their studies.

The HCM City Association for Promoting Education's Scholarship for Talents is a scholarship awarded to students who have overcome difficulties to study well. The scholarship is implemented with the aim of supporting students to overcome difficulties in life, reaching their dreams of developing their talents to serve the country.

In the 2024-2025 school year, the Talent Encouragement Scholarship awarded 1.64 billion VND to 318 excellent students in Ho Chi Minh City.

Of these, 77 students received scholarships for the first time and 241 students continued to receive scholarships for the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th times. At the ceremony, delegates also presented flowers to congratulate 84 students who graduated and matured thanks to receiving scholarships from the Ho Chi Minh City Association for Promoting Education.

Pham Quoc Cuong - a first-year student at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy - who received this scholarship said that his family is facing many difficulties as only his father (who works as a car mechanic) is the main breadwinner, and his mother is suffering from many illnesses and is not in good health to work.

“This scholarship means a lot to me. It helps me cover part of my college expenses and reduces the burden on my father's shoulders," said student Pham Quoc Cuong.

The Talent Encouragement Scholarship, also known as the "1&1 Scholarship", is implemented in a way where a benefactor (individual or organization) sponsors a student and will sponsor the scholarship for that student throughout their studies.

Up to now, the city's Talent Encouragement Scholarship has been implemented for 24 years, awarded to 2,789 students with sponsorship from 670 individuals and 52 corporations, companies, and units with a total amount of scholarships awarded to students during 4, 5, and 6 years of university study of more than 27.8 billion VND.
