On October 24, the Dak Lak Province Association for Promotion of Education coordinated with a local enterprise to organize a "Bicycle donation ceremony for poor but studious students in Lak district".
Mr. Pham Dang Khoa - Chairman of Dak Lak Province's Association for the Promotion of Education - said: "Lak District is one of the most disadvantaged areas of the province. The locality has many poor students who are ethnic minorities and have extremely difficult circumstances.
In recent years, the province's education sector has devoted many resources to investing in the area, thereby helping poor students have the opportunity to go to school and excel in their studies."
According to Mr. Khoa, many students in the area still live in remote areas. Every day, they have to travel a long distance to school, without any means of transportation.
Therefore, the district still needs organizations and individuals to support and help children overcome difficulties and continue going to school.
On this occasion, the Dak Lak Province Education Promotion Association and local businesses awarded 10 bicycles and 10 scholarships (each worth 5 million VND) to students in difficult circumstances.
H'Ngan Ro Luk - a 9th grade student at Tran Hung Dao Secondary School, Lak District - shared: "We thank the attention and support of organizations and businesses in the province. These gifts will help us have more opportunities to go to school every day, thereby constantly striving to achieve better results in our studies."
Ms. Le Thi Hong Ngoc (representative of the sponsor) shared: "Witnessing with our own eyes the difficult life of students going to school every day, we feel the need to contribute more to social security programs."
"That is the motivation that urges the unit to coordinate with the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education to support means and resources to help children continue their education," Ms. Ngoc added.
