The Department of Education and Training (DET) of Ho Chi Minh City recommends that educational institutions need to strengthen communication activities, disseminate disease prevention and control in schools about symptoms and prevention methods for COVID-19 for students, teachers, and parents; focus on disseminating and mobilizing the implementation of measures to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic, risk factors, and harmful effects of the epidemic.
Coordinate closely with local health stations to detect suspected infections early; monitor, detect, and investigate people with infectious diseases; monitor pathogens, and handle outbreaks (if any).
Special attention should be paid to protecting high-risk groups, strengthening protection and support for students with underlying health problems, older teachers, people with weak immunity, underlying health problems, teachers, and pregnant women. Encourage wearing a mask in closed, crowded spaces.
At the same time, the department requires schools to proactively prepare epidemic prevention and control plans. Review and approve the unit's epidemic prevention and control plan; continue to implement infection prevention and control. Ensure adequate antibacterial solutions, preventive medical masks, organize classroom hygiene, hygiene rooms, and public areas.
When detecting suspected infections or unusual situations, schools need to immediately report to the Department of Education and Training of the district, town and Thu Duc City and coordinate with local health care to handle the correct procedures. Fully implement the information regime on reporting and declaring infectious diseases and epidemics according to regulations.
