This year, the training program and new union member development class at Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted attracted nearly 400 students to participate, with a larger scale than in previous years.
The program is organized in 2 phases, from August 23 to August 30. Each phase lasts 4 days and 3 nights, focusing students from different specialized classes.
When participating in the program, students are not allowed to use phones but instead will live in squads and participate in studying topics such as what needs to be done by specialized school students, self-protection skills, Youth Union - Association skills... organized and guided by teachers and coordinators.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoai Thanh, Secretary of the Youth Union of Ly Tu Trong High School for the Gifted, this year the training program has a longer organization time, students are equipped with a new topic "Understanding oneself to grow up" to help them with basic knowledge about physiological health care and mental health.
In addition to learning necessary skills, the program also organizes for students to participate in large games, folk dance competitions with each other. These collective activities bring a lively atmosphere, helping them get acquainted, connect and build team spirit in a new environment.
I have learned a lot through the topics and understood more about the tradition of specialized schools, the responsibility of a specialized student. These will be the precious luggage accompanying me in my high school years" - Vo Gia Bao shared when participating in the program.
Ms. Vo Kim Ngan, a member of the Organizing Committee, also wished: "The Youth Union Member Training Program will help you better understand the spirit of responsibility, proactiveness and value of contributing to the collective. Through this, I hope you can be more confident and enthusiastic when studying at the new school".
Not only is it a place for students to have the opportunity to interact and connect with friends, but through the program, it also helps 10th grade students practice discipline, spirit of responsibility and necessary skills.
