The Ho Chi Minh City Youth Employment Service Center coordinated with the Dong Hung Thuan Ward Youth Union to organize a conference on training knowledge and skills on career guidance for teachers and parents.
The program attracted more than 200 secondary and high school teachers to attend in person and more than 300 teachers to attend online from 168 wards, communes and special zones. In addition, there were 150 parents attending in person and 300 parents participating online.
The conference provides many practical contents, helping teachers supplement professional skills to accompany students in career orientation. The topics focus on consultation methods, support tools and effective organizational activities. Thereby, teachers can help students choose a career that suits their abilities, preferences and meets social needs.
At the same time, the program also organizes training sessions exclusively for parents. Here, experts shared information about the upcoming career development trends, the labor market, as well as methods for parents to become companions, instead of imposing career choices on their children. Many parents also frankly shared difficulties, discussed and received answers from experts.
According to the Organizing Committee, current career guidance work needs to be linked to practical needs, in order to contribute to creating changes in the flow of students after graduating from junior high school and high school. Equipping knowledge and skills for both teachers and parents is expected to help students have a clear career orientation, thereby building an effective study and training plan for the future.
