On the afternoon of June 7, the Border Guard of Soc Trang province said that Squadron 2 had just successfully rescued 5 crew members in distress at sea and brought them safely to shore.
Previously, at 10:10 a.m. the same day, Squadron 2 received a report from the owner of a vehicle of Manh Cuong Company (Manh Cuong 4) with the number SG 8149 captained by Mr. Le Thanh Nam (born in 1970, hometown of Ward 9, District 8, Ho Chi Minh City). On the ship, there were 5 crew members in distress due to bad weather, big waves causing the ship to sink at a location about 15 nautical miles from Tran De fishing port.
Immediately after receiving the information, the unit mobilized the BP 18-13-01 ship and 7 officers and soldiers on patrol duty at sea to quickly move to the scene to deploy a rescue plan.
At 10:40 a.m. the same day, the authorities arrived at the scene, successfully rescued 5 crew members to board the boat safely and brought them to the Squadron 2 port at 1:30 p.m.
After arriving at the port, the unit sent the medical unit to initial health check-ups for the crew members. Currently, the health of all crew members is healthy.
The Soc Trang Border Guard has completed the procedures to hand over the crew members to Manh Cuong Company.
