On March 20, Railway Transport Joint Stock Company announced that it will adjust to increase passenger ticket prices by 5% and freight rates by 8%, applying from 0:00 on March 21.

This move was made after domestic fuel prices were adjusted to increase from 11 pm on March 19.

According to businesses, fluctuating input costs force the railway industry to update service prices to ensure operation.

Thus, in just 13 days, the railway industry has adjusted ticket prices three times according to gasoline and oil price developments.

Specifically, from March 8, 2026, passenger train ticket prices will increase by 10% and freight rates will increase by 15% due to a sharp increase in fuel prices.

However, on March 13, when gasoline prices cooled down, this unit adjusted down correspondingly 3% of the ticket price and 4% of the freight charge.
