Recently, there has been a lot of information that from January 1, 2025, a new regulation in Circular No. 35/2024/TT - BGTVT issued by the Ministry of Transport will apply, in which people whose driving licenses have expired but are late in completing the renewal procedures, even if it is only 1 day overdue, will have to retake the theory test... which has affected people's psychology. Therefore, the number of people going to locations to renew driving licenses has increased dramatically.
From this information, many people, even though their driving licenses were still valid for 1 month or more, rushed to the One-Stop Department of the Hanoi Department of Transport to apply for a replacement.
In order to create more favorable conditions for people, the Hanoi Department of Transport has proposed that the Hanoi People's Committee authorize the implementation of procedures for granting and exchanging driving licenses at the One-stop-shop department of the People's Committees of 13 districts including: Long Bien, Nam Tu Liem, Son Tay town, Ung Hoa, My Duc, Phu Xuyen, Dong Anh, Dan Phuong, Soc Son, Me Linh, Thanh Oai, Quoc Oai and Ba Vi.
It is known that each day, the two points for procedures to issue and renew driving licenses of the Hanoi Department of Transport can only serve 180 cases, 90 people get a number in the morning, 90 in the afternoon.
To avoid wasting time waiting while carrying out the procedure for directly issuing and exchanging driving licenses, the Hanoi Department of Transport recommends that people prepare the following documents: a valid driver's health certificate; a photocopy of the driving license in use; and a citizen identification card.
However, due to the limited number of applications received directly every day, the Hanoi Department of Transport also recommends that people should go to the One-Stop Department at the authorized District People's Committee to have their applications processed; or do the procedure "online" at the address: dichvucong.gov.vn to avoid having to travel and wait.
