Ho Chi Minh City handles more than 1,000 people violating alcohol concentration in 2 days

During the first two days of the campaign to ensure traffic safety and social order during the 2025 Tet holiday, Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police handled more than 3,000 violations.

On December 18, the Ho Chi Minh City Traffic Police Department said that preliminary statistics showed that on December 15 and 16, on the road, the Traffic Police force conducted a total inspection of 6,218 vehicles, thereby detecting and handling a total of 3,331 cases of traffic law violations, temporarily detaining 1,211 vehicles, and revoking the driving licenses of 614 cases.

Common violations include carrying more people than allowed; driving in the wrong direction; violating regulations on alcohol and drug concentrations; violating regulations on speed; carrying goods exceeding the permitted size and weight; stopping and parking in the wrong place...

Of these, there were 231 cases of driving in the wrong lane, 407 cases of stopping and parking in violation of regulations, 304 cases of speeding violations, 1,016 cases of alcohol concentration violations, 11 cases of drug violations...

On waterways, the Waterway Police force conducted a total inspection of 143 cases, recorded 29 violations, including transporting over the safe waterline, violating alcohol concentration regulations; violating regulations on vehicle safety equipment and tools; violating regulations on vehicle registration, inspection, and registration numbers.

The peak period of attacking, suppressing crime, ensuring security and order during the Lunar New Year 2025 in Ho Chi Minh City will take place from December 15, 2024 to February 14, 2025.
