Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Truong Canh Tuyen has just signed and issued the Plan to Launch an emulation movement to implement the campaign "All people participate in environmental protection"; minimize the occurrence, classification, collection, and treatment of waste for a bright - green - clean - beautiful Vietnam in Can Tho City in the period 2026-2030.
Accordingly, the Chairman of Can Tho requested that the emulation movement be deployed regularly, continuously, and synchronously from the city to the grassroots level; with close coordination between agencies, units, and localities.
The emulation contents must be practical and effective, associated with socio-economic development tasks, building civilized urban areas, new rural areas and environmental protection tasks of each agency, unit, and locality.
Above all, the organization of implementation must have a specific plan, clearly assign responsibilities, ensure progress and quality, and be suitable to actual conditions;
Collectives and individuals also promptly detect, commend, reward and replicate good, creative, and effective models and practices in environmental protection work.
The plan of Can Tho City People's Committee has emulation contents, including: Propaganda and raising awareness about environmental protection; Building green - clean - beautiful residential areas, agencies, and units associated with reducing plastic waste; Management of domestic solid waste; Environmental protection of rivers and canals; Handling of environmental pollution points.
