On May 19, at the Cai Ngang Revolutionary Historical Relic Site, the People's Committee of Cai Ngang commune organized a launching ceremony to respond to "Tet tree planting forever remembering Uncle Ho" in 2026 to celebrate the 136th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2026).
The program aims to raise community awareness about the role of green trees in environmental protection, climate change response and building green - clean - beautiful rural landscapes. The activity also continues to promote the tree planting movement initiated by President Ho Chi Minh.

Speaking at the program, Ms. Nguyen Thuy Yen Phuong - Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairwoman of the People's Council of Cai Ngang commune - said that the movement "Tet tree planting forever remembers Uncle Ho" has practical significance in protecting the environment, improving rural landscape and raising community awareness in preserving natural resources.
According to Ms. Phuong, planting and caring for green trees today is a specific action contributing to building Cai Ngang homeland to be increasingly green, clean, and beautiful, while aiming for sustainable development for future generations before the impact of climate change.
Within the framework of the program, the locality implements a plan to plant and care for more than 1,550 green trees of all kinds and 350 bamboo trees on roads in hamlet 4A, Cay Dieu hamlet, hamlet 5A and the campus of Cai Ngang Revolutionary Historical Relic Site.

Mr. Nguyen Tuan Khoi - Chairman of the Vietnam Bamboo Development Fund - said that accompanying localities in bamboo planting activities not only contributes to greening the landscape but also has the meaning of preserving cultural and historical values associated with the image of Vietnamese bamboo.
According to Mr. Khoi, the bamboo varieties supported in the program have practical value in preventing landslides, adapting to climate change, creating sustainable livelihoods for people, and at the same time spreading the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility in protecting the living environment.
Mr. Phan Minh Chanh - Head of the Liaison Committee of Tam Binh Hometown Association in Ho Chi Minh City - said that planting trees, especially bamboo, on dyke lines and riverside areas, not only contributes to creating a green landscape but also helps retain soil, water and protect local natural resources.
In addition to the tree planting campaign, the program also organizes the Folk Cake Festival, Cai Ngang homeland cuisine and tree planting campaign with the participation of union members, youth and local people, contributing to strengthening community cohesion and building a green living environment.
