The film project “My beautiful mom” is a collaboration between BC Pictures JSC, Tien Phong JSC and SJ World JSC (Korea). This event also marks an important milestone in the cultural and artistic cooperation between Vietnam and Korea.
Accordingly, the film project “My beautiful mom – Nguoi me dep dep cua toi” comes from a Korean screenwriter but has 100% pure Vietnamese content. The script is carefully researched about the culture, customs, lifestyle, thoughts, feelings... of Vietnamese people to portray a touching story about motherly love with the main setting in the port city of Hai Phong.
The content revolves around the silent sacrifice of a disabled mother, with all her spirit, wealth and life so that her only son can reach success. The seemingly familiar plot will appear more vivid with the setting of a port city and other famous places in Vietnam.
Vietnamese cuisine and culture will be exploited in great detail, especially the rust-scraping profession of coastal women, which has never been exploited on Vietnamese screens before, and will certainly create a new highlight for the audience.
“My beautiful mom” will be the first film co-produced by Korea and Vietnam since the COVID-19 pandemic. It is known that Vietnamese director Dinh Tuan Vu will participate as co-director with Korean director Yoo Cheol Yong.
The film was shot in Vietnam and post-production will be done in Korea. The work is expected to be released in 2025 and will compete at prestigious film festivals around the world.
According to the producer's representative, the film will contribute to the development of culture and arts, while promoting cultural exchange and developing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea, as well as introducing a modern, developing Vietnamese cinema that is gradually in tune with Asian and world cinema.
