The "Hanoi Singing Voice" contest ended with many notable marks, in which the name Cuong DuyC left many impressions when the young male singer won the runner-up prize in the light music category.
This achievement is considered an important milestone in Cuong DuyC's journey to pursue professional music from Hanoi.
Cuong DuyC, real name Nguyen Van Viet Cuong, born in 2002. He is the valedictorian of the Department of Applied Music - Thang Long University in 2024, and passed the Master of Performance program at this school under the guidance of Associate Professor, Dr. Meritorious Artist Tran Ngoc Lan. A systematic training platform and clear orientation help Cuong DuyC have a solid preparation step before participating in professional music playgrounds.
Before becoming the runner-up of the "Hanoi Singing Voice" contest, Cuong DuyC had tried his hand at many major competitions such as: "Vietnam Idol", "The Voice", "Doi Dinh Tai Xanh", "Voi Ca hay Ha Noi"... He also participated in the audition round of the "Vietnam Idol 2023" contest, milestones that helped the young male singer accumulate experience.
Coming from an ordinary family, Cuong DuyC did not have the favorable economic conditions to pursue art. However, music soon became a familiar part of his life when his grandparents followed the profession of male singing.
The male singer proactively built TikTok and YouTube channels, posting rustic cover videos, mainly Ballad,... songs. Many of his covers quickly spread on social networks, reaching millions of views, with many comments praising his bright voice and Tenor color. This became a great motivation for him to persistently pursue a professional singing career.
An important turning point in Cuong DuyC's musical journey came with the support of lecturer Nguyen Duc Quang - a teacher directly teaching at the Faculty of Applied Music, Thang Long University.
It is the orientation of Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang that has helped Cuong DuyC clearly identify the light music - ballad style, and at the same time receive proper training in vocal technique, performance style and modern musical thinking in a professional training environment.
Cuong DuyC also expressed his gratitude for winning the runner-up prize of the "Hanoi Singing Voice" contest: "This achievement is the result of a long process of studying and trying. I would like to express my special gratitude to Mr. Nguyen Duc Quang - the person who trusted, guided and accompanied me from the first days of my artistic journey. Without that guidance, I would have had a hard time going in the right direction and persevered until today."
With Ballad skills and the ability to handle a variety of light music genres, Cuong DuyC said that this award is a great source of encouragement, but also a pressure for him to continue to improve his expertise, improve himself and aim for more serious music projects in the coming time.
The Hanoi Singing Runner-up Award for light music is not only the first remarkable achievement in Cuong DuyC's career, but also marks the transformation of a young singer who is steadfast in the musical path he has chosen.
