Thanks to her elegant beauty, bravery, confidence and understanding of cultural values and national heritage, contestant Phung Thi Huyen My was crowned Miss Ao Dai Vietnam Global Heritage 2026.
Phung Thi Huyen My (SBD 099) impressed when answering in 3 languages (Vietnamese - English - French) in the Q&A session. She also expressed her frank opinion about the value of ao dai not only in its elegant design, honoring the gentle beauty of Vietnamese women, but also in the stories about history, culture and national identity entrusted in each ao dai.
The beauty expressed her desire to spread the message that, no matter how strongly integrated and developed, Vietnamese people are still proud to preserve their cultural roots, because that identity will help Vietnam shine on the international stage.
With a confident answer, the girl from Hanoi was crowned. Phung Thi Huyen My used to study English at Hanoi - Amsterdam High School for the Gifted and then went abroad to study business administration majoring in finance in France. She said that she came to the competition because she had a deep love for Ao Dai and wanted to contribute to promoting the beauty of Vietnamese Ao Dai to international friends.
Currently, Phung Thi Huyen My is running a family hotel chain in Nha Trang. The new Miss shared that she will spend time participating in cultural events, encouraging the use of ao dai in welcoming activities at accommodation establishments - where she is working in Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa).
In addition, the beauty will nurture the idea of building small Ao Dai display spaces right at her business locations, and at the same time allocate a part of resources to carry out social activities aimed at preserving and developing Vietnamese traditional weaving villages.
It is known that the final night of Miss Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Global 2026 takes place at the Outdoor Studio of Vietnam Television (VTV) in Hanoi, gathering 20 best contestants from many provinces and cities across the country.
According to the assessment from designer Cao Thu Van - Head of the Organizing Committee, the contestants participating in this year's contest are not only beautiful but also have kindness, knowledge, and aspiration to bring their root values to the world.
Looking at the proud contestants walking in ao dai, I know that the fire of heritage has never gone out, it is burning brighter than ever. The contestants are ambassadors promoting Vietnamese beauty flying high and far and they have all won in the journey to honor Vietnamese cultural heritage" - designer Cao Thu Van said.
In the final night, the contestants successively went through 3 performances including: Heritage color Ao Dai Costume, Innovative Ao Dai Costume and Evening Gown. Through each performance, the contestants not only showed physical beauty, stage style but also conveyed their love for Ao Dai and the traditional cultural values of the nation.
The organizers selected the Top 5 best contestants to enter the Q&A session. Here, the contestants showed their thinking ability, stage presence and personal views on issues related to culture, heritage, the role of women and the responsibility to spread the value of Vietnamese ao dai. The special point is that the contestants all answered Q&A in at least 2 languages.
The organizing committee also decided to award the crown of Miss Vietnam Global Ao Dai Heritage 2026 to contestant Phung Thi Huyen My (Hanoi). The title of 1st Runner-up belonged to Cao Anh Thu (Hanoi), 2nd Runner-up Duong Thi Khanh Linh (Hung Yen), 3rd Runner-up Hoang Thi Thanh Duoc (Ninh Binh) and 4th Runner-up Hoang Vu Ngoc Anh (Thanh Hoa).
