The patient was taken to the hospital by relatives in critical condition, with deep and complex wounds in the neck area: a crushed tracheal chart, exposed the front face; a complete amputation of the thyroid cartilage; exposed arteries - a very high risk of bleeding and acute respiratory failure.
Immediately upon admission, the emergency team activated the "red alert system of the whole hospital", urgently mobilizing specialists: emergency resuscitation, ENT, anesthesia resuscitation... to coordinate handling. The patient was quickly placed in a Canuyn, had his airway control control control, and then transferred directly to the operating room for damage treatment.
Doctor Uong Hong Hop - Head of the ENT Department, Vietnam - Sweden Uong Bi Hospital, who directly participated in the surgery, said: This case is very serious, the cutting cut caused a complete tear of the thyroid cartilage, a crushed airway, and a blood vessel in the neck area was exposed. If not treated promptly, the patient can die in just a few minutes due to blood loss or respiratory failure.
Thanks to the smooth and accurate coordination between the teams, the surgery was successful, and the patient was out of danger. Currently, after nearly 2 weeks of treatment, the patient's health is stable and he has been discharged from the hospital.
Neck injury is one of the most dangerous damages, which can cause blood loss, respiratory failure and damage to vital structures in just a few minutes. The activation of the hospital-wide red alert has helped shorten the treatment time, increasing the patient's chance of survival.
