On April 17, leaders of the Ca Mau Department of Health said that the unit had just issued a document to rectify advertising activities in the field of vaccination in the province.
According to the Department of Health, recently, some vaccination facilities, especially private facilities, have seen excessive advertising and service introduction; using images of the health sector, communication messages in the direction of grafting, exaggerating or creating a serious feeling that is not true about the epidemic situation to attract people.
The health sector believes that this is easy to cause misunderstanding and confusion in the community, especially when the locality has just recorded 2 cases positive for meningococcal disease.
The Department of Health requests units to review all advertising content on signboards, leaflets, posters, websites, fan pages and social networking platforms; do not use absolute language to inflate the effectiveness of vaccines, do not provide misleading information that vaccination can completely replace other disease prevention measures.
Facilities must also not assign images and messages in a direction that causes concern or creates psychological pressure forcing people to use services; at the same time, they must ensure that the communication content is in accordance with expertise and legal regulations.
The Department of Health requests proactive inspection, correction, and removal of inappropriate contents, to prevent violations from arising that affect the reputation of the health sector and the rights of the people.
After the appearance of meningococcal disease cases, the number of people coming to vaccination facilities in Ca Mau increased sharply, and at times there was overload.
