The tumor was discovered by patient K.L.N a year ago, has grown to 40cm in size and weighs 3.2kg, spreading to both inner thighs and the outer genitals. This is the largest case of vulvar tumor ever recorded in Vietnam.
Dr. Nguyen Van Thang - Head of the Gynecological Oncology Department, who directly performed the surgery, commented: "This is an extremely rare case. The tumor is not only large but also necrotic and severely infected. We have to carefully treat the tumor and at the same time regenerate the damaged area to help the patient recover both health and aesthetics."
After a thorough consultation, the medical team decided to perform emergency surgery. The giant tumor was completely removed and sent for biopsy. At the same time, the doctors also reconstructed the genital structure, ensuring physiological function and aesthetics for the patient.
Dr. Nguyen Van Thang warns that many diseases in sensitive areas are often ignored by women due to psychological hesitation. However, delaying treatment can lead to serious consequences.
