The patient, Mr. N.T.C (56 years old, Ninh Binh) came to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases for examination in a state of severe itching in the genitals. According to the sharing, in the past year or so, he has often felt a lot of itching in the mucous membranes, scrotum and around the anus. Initially, due to fear, he bought topical medicine and oral medicine to treat him, but his condition did not improve.
As time went on, the itching increased, especially at night, causing him insomnia, poor appetite and disrupting daily activities. Unable to bear it, he went to a private clinic and was prescribed treatment. However, symptoms only subside during the course of taking the drug, then quickly recur, and even become more itchy than before. Worried, he decided to go to the Central Hospital for Tropical Diseases for an in-depth examination.
Dr. Nguyen Thi Hoa, Dermatology specialist, Center for Required Examination and Treatment and International, said: after examination, doctors noted that the patient's mucous area had many light blue patches, about 12 mm in size, accompanied by small throbs and many scratches caused by prolonged scratching. When scanning the skin under the microscope, the doctor discovered images of muzzles (Pthirus pubis) moving on each hairline, even clearly observing a pair of muzzles sticking together.
According to Associate Professor, Dr. Le Tran Anh, an expert in Mushroom - Parasitology, mu crow is a parasite that often lives in the mu fur area, around the anus, and can also appear in the armpits, eyebrows and eyelashes. Mu feathers are very small in size, only about 1 mm, gray brown or gray white, shaped like small crabs. When sucked with blood, the crow's body will be darker.
The life cycle of muzzles usually lasts less than a month. The toad eggs are very small, oval, white or yellow, clustered on the fur and will bloom after about a week. If they cannot pump blood, the muzzles cannot live for more than 24 hours.
People with muzzles often have severe itching in the genitals, especially at night. White spots may appear on the skin at the location of the bite. Due to their very small size, mu election is often difficult to detect with the naked eye and requires careful observation or the use of lenses and microchips for diagnosis.
Mulitis is transmitted mainly through direct contact, especially through sexual intercourse. In addition, sharing personal items such as towels, bades, and clothes can also increase the risk of infection.
After determining the cause, the doctors quickly prescribed a specific treatment regimen for the patient.
After treatment, the patient's itching condition was significantly reduced, and the skin damage gradually recovered. The patient was scheduled for a follow-up examination after a week to assess the effectiveness of treatment and check the risk of reinfection.
Doctors recommend that when there are signs of prolonged itching in the genitals, patients should not be subjective or self-treat for a long time. Going for early examination helps to accurately diagnose and treat the cause, avoiding complications and spreading to others. In case of rhinitis, it is necessary to treat the partner at the same time if there is a risk of infection, strictly comply with personal hygiene and the living environment, and re-examine according to the appointment to ensure the disease is completely treated.
