On May 29, Soc Trang General Hospital held a ceremony to announce the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee on personnel work.
At the ceremony, the leaders of the Soc Trang Provincial Department of Health presented the retirement decision according to the regime to specialist I Thach Khuon - Deputy Director of the Hospital. Dr. Thach Khuon has worked for more than 32 years, contributing to the cause of caring for and protecting people's health.

Previously, on the afternoon of May 28, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoi - Vice Chairman of Soc Trang Provincial People's Committee also presented the decision of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee approving Mr. Tran Thanh Tuan - Deputy Director of the Provincial Department of Health to retire to enjoy social insurance benefits from June 1, 2025.
Soc Trang General Hospital is currently a Grade I hospital under the provincial Department of Health. In recent years, the hospital has continuously developed in terms of expertise and infrastructure, especially in the field of cardiology.
In July 2023, at the signing ceremony of a cooperation agreement on medical development until 2025 between the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health and 13 provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta, Soc Trang General Hospital and Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital signed an agreement to establish a Cardiovascular Center in Soc Trang.
In March 2025, the Cardiovascular Center was officially established, under the General Hospital of Soc Trang Province. The center is the union of three specialized departments: Department of rhythm, cardiovascular department and intervention. The establishment of the cardiovascular center is an important milestone, contributing to improving the quality of cardiovascular health care for people in Soc Trang province, especially creating opportunities for poor patients to access high quality health services right in the locality.
