On April 11, at the hall of Nguyen Dinh Chieu Hospital, the Department of Health organized a training class on reproductive health care for health workers in the province, on the occasion of the 2026 Chol Chnam Thmay Tet.
More than 200 doctors, physicians, and nurses working in obstetrics and gynecology at hospitals and commune and ward health stations attended, showing the concern of the health sector for women's health care at the grassroots level.
At the training class, trainees were updated on knowledge about approaching and treating abnormal uterine bleeding, and also grasped the current situation of diagnosis and treatment at medical facilities in the past time to improve the effectiveness of medical examination and treatment.
Abnormal uterine bleeding is a condition of bleeding not according to the normal menstrual cycle, such as prolonged menstruation, metrorrhagia, or post-intercourse bleeding; the cause may be endocrine disorders, uterine fibroids, polyps, or endometrial hyperplasia.
In the program, trainees and speakers actively exchange, interact, and share clinical experiences, contributing to consolidating professional skills, helping medical staff effectively handle common situations in actual medical examination and treatment.
Experts and lecturers from Pham Ngoc Thach Medical University and Nguyen Dinh Chieu Hospital directly report and impart in-depth knowledge, contributing to improving the quality of training and meeting the requirements of reproductive health care in the locality.
Speaking at the training class, Ms. Lam Nhu Quynh - Deputy Director of the Department of Health emphasized that accessing and handling abnormal uterine bleeding situations correctly is a key task, contributing to improving the quality of women's health care.
According to Ms. Quynh, the health sector needs to focus on prevention, not only treatment but also strengthen counseling, providing knowledge, and reassuring people's psychology right from the grassroots level, towards comprehensive and sustainable health care.
