In the face of the reality of the epidemic situation being complicated, especially in Inter-comarter 2 and Quarter 8, Tan Son Nhi Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, where the existing outbreak was recorded, the Health Station has closely coordinated with the Ward People's Committee to organize forces into three working teams with specific tasks.
Team 1 was assigned to monitor at risk points and carry out dialysis work, directly communicating to each household about the epidemic situation as well as disease prevention measures. People are instructed on how to find and eliminate the breeding sites of Aedes mosquitoes, especially in items and locations that are easily overlooked such as cotton balls, fish tanks, water containers that are rarely used...
Team 2 took on communication work at Son Ky market, one of the traditional markets with a large concentration of traders and business households. Here, traders are given leaflets and information about dengue fever and Chikungunya to raise awareness of disease prevention, contributing to limiting the spread in the community.
Team 3 deploys mobile communication by loudspeaker combined with bamboo and rpm in the Inter-Ward 2 and Ward 8 areas to widely inform the people. The campaign was implemented under the close direction of the Ward People's Committee and the synchronous coordination of the Health Station with many local departments and organizations.
Not only Tan Son Nhi ward, but all wards in Ho Chi Minh City have simultaneously launched chemical spraying to kill mosquitoes, kill mosquito larvae, prevent dengue fever and Chikungunya in recent days.
According to Dr. Huynh Minh Chin - Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health, the importance of proactive disease prevention and control is especially when dengue fever and Chikungunya have a common disease-carrying intermediary, the Aedes mosquito. He affirmed that there is currently no specific treatment for these diseases, the most effective disease prevention measures are mosquito control, mosquito repellent control and mosquito biting prevention.
Along with the lantern destruction activities, communication work has also been strengthened. People are instructed on how to recognize the symptoms of the disease early and proactively take measures to prevent and control the epidemic. The grassroots health force and collaborators encourage people to use the Online Health application to reflect mosquito risk points, helping local authorities and the health sector handle them promptly.
