Previously, on September 30, in Frankfurt (Germany), the Ministry of Finance coordinated with the People's Committee of Da Nang City and the Vietnamese Embassy in Germany to organize a Conference on Investment Promotion in Financial Centers in Vietnam. The conference was chaired by Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh, with the participation of international financial institutions.
At the conference, Deputy Minister of Finance Tran Quoc Phuong clearly stated the orientation for building an international financial center in Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang. With its strategic location, Da Nang has great potential in the field of technology finance. Vietnam is committed to strongly opening up financial institutions, protecting investors' rights, and developing a modern financial center model.
Mr. Pham Duc An, Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City, introduced the preparation work for the construction of a financial center: completing infrastructure, forming a sustainable financial ecosystem, building data centers, seaports, airports, free trade zones, training international financial human resources. Da Nang is committed to accompanying investors to develop a creative and modern financial center in the Asia-Pacific region.
The conference acknowledged many opinions on cooperation opportunities in the fields of blockchain, digital finance, green finance, and attracting international investment. Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh highly appreciated the conference organization initiative, considering Frankfurt - Germany's financial heart - a model for Vietnam to learn from, based on the three pillars of law, infrastructure, and human resources. He proposed strengthening cooperation between the Frankfurt financial center and Vietnam.
Within the framework of the conference, Mr. Pham Duc An signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on the Financial Center with Frankfurt Main Finance Organization. Previously, on September 29, Da Nang leaders attended the Annual Congress of the Global Alliance of International Financial Centers (WAIFC).
