On October 13, the Market Management Department of Gia Lai province said that during the recent Mid-Autumn Festival, the unit has increased inspections, promptly detected and strictly handled violations related to food safety, goods of unknown origin, smuggled goods and children's toys with toxic and violent elements.
Through inspection, the authorities discovered 22 violations, imposed administrative fines with a total amount of more than 192 million VND, and confiscated goods worth over 130 million VND. The exhibits that were forced to be destroyed included 719 moon cakes, 8,580 cakes of various types, 12 bags of foreign mushrooms, 564 kg of fresh pork...

In particular, on September 9, Market Management Team No. 4 coordinated with Vinh Thanh Commune Police to inspect a business household selling goods online via Tiktok and Shopee platforms. This facility processes and packages roasted rice online but does not have a certificate of food safety eligibility and has not announced the quality of the product. The authorities have fined 62.5 million VND.
On September 17, the Market Management Department Inspection Team coordinated with functional forces to inspect the workshop's production facilities and discovered that the ingredients including pork leg, pork fat and pork skin in large quantities had a foul smell and changed color. The authorities fined 65 million VND and forced the destruction of all goods.
In addition, the Provincial Market Management Department also coordinated with interdisciplinary inspection teams on food safety to inspect 214 establishments, detect and handle 18 violations with a total fine of nearly 100 million VND.
According to the Gia Lai Provincial Market Management Department, in the last months of 2025 and before, during and after the Lunar New Year 2026, smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and poor quality goods are expected to develop complicatedly due to high consumer demand. The unit will continue to strengthen the management of the area, inspect and control the market, resolutely prevent and strictly handle violations.
