Recorded on the morning of the 29th of Tet, the last day of the 2025 lunar year, the shopping atmosphere in Vinh Long reached its peak. From early morning, people flocked to supermarkets and traditional markets to choose to buy goods to prepare for the New Year.
Mr. Van Quoc Hoang - Director of Vinh Long Co.opmart Supermarket - said that in the days leading up to Tet, the number of customers increased by more than 30%, sales increased by about 300% compared to normal days, and the shopping atmosphere is always bustling.
According to Mr. Hoang, the supermarket has proactively stockpiled goods worth more than 150 billion VND, with a variety of types, ensuring full supply on peak days, maintaining stable prices to serve people.
Shopping space is scientifically rearranged, essential goods and promotional products are arranged in convenient locations. Supermarkets increase personnel, open more checkout counters, and limit waiting situations.
The supermarket serves until 12 noon on the 29th of Tet; reopens from 8am to 12pm on the 4th and 5th days; from the 6th day it operates normally. Home delivery service continues to be maintained," Mr. Hoang added.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Hanh, Phuoc Hau ward, said that she chose to shop at the supermarket because the listed prices are clear, the goods are diverse, and easy to find. Although there are many customers, shopping is still convenient.
Recorded at Vinh Long market, from the morning of the 29th of Tet, people gathered in large numbers in the area of fresh flowers and fresh food. Many small traders said that purchasing power increased sharply compared to previous days.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Phuc, a flower trader, said that he has proactively prepared goods sources and maintained stable prices. In the last hours of the year, the number of customers continues to increase.

Cakes and jams are also selling well. Ms. Huynh Thi Thuy Trang said that prices increased slightly by 5–10% compared to the previous year due to increased input costs, but consumption is still quite good.
Mr. Tran Quoc Tuan - Director of Vinh Long Department of Industry and Trade - said that during the Tet holiday, at traditional markets, the amount of goods imported increased by 50-70% compared to normal days; fresh flowers, fruits for five-fruit trays, meat, fish, and cakes and jams are sold in abundance, meeting the needs of year-end shopping.
Mr. Tuan said that the whole province currently has over 400 markets, 16 supermarkets, 6 shopping centers, 1 shopping center and more than 130 general business convenience stores; the source of Tet Binh Ngo 2026 goods is well prepared.
According to Mr. Tuan, Vietnamese goods account for over 90% of the commodity structure; price stabilization points are publicly announced, businesses commit to selling at prices equal to or lower than the market, strengthening food safety inspection, and listing prices in accordance with regulations.
