Song Gianh Cement accelerates green transformation, reduces 23% CO2 by 2030

Commemorating the 20th anniversary of formation and development, Song Gianh Cement Joint Stock Company - a member of SCG Group announced a new green growth strategy.

Accordingly, SCG aims to reduce 23% of CO2 emissions in the entire cement industry of the group in the Central region by 2030, while promoting a carbon reduction roadmap and applying automation in operation to improve energy efficiency, optimize logistics and reduce environmental impacts throughout the production chain.

Along with SCG Group's comprehensive Green Growth orientation, Song Gianh Cement focuses on implementing emission reduction solutions, improving energy efficiency and developing environmentally friendly building materials, while modernizing the logistics system to improve supply capacity.

As of 2025, the cement industry of the group in the Central region has reduced about 9% of CO2 emissions compared to the base level in 2020 and aims to achieve a reduction of 23% by 2030.

The plant has coordinated with specialized partners to jointly treat about 140,000 - 200,000 tons of waste/year as fuel and alternative materials.

In parallel with that, Song Gianh Cement develops key product lines such as SCG Low Carbon applying SCG Nano technology, meeting the national green building criteria.
