Climateworks Centre proposes a roadmap for converting industrial parks in Ho Chi Minh City

The report of Climateworks Centre, under Monash University (Australia), proposes a separate transformation roadmap, making Ho Chi Minh City a place with a net zero-emission industrial park.

NZIP is understood as a model in which stakeholders coordinate closely to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and aim for net zero emissions in a specific geographical area.

Mr. Khuat Tuan Anh, Policy Director of Climateworks Centre Vietnam, author of the report, said that NZIPs open up opportunities to help Vietnam's industry adapt and develop sustainably in the future, while creating growth momentum for the economy.

He said: Through upgrading energy infrastructure, modernizing production processes and enhancing cooperation, NZIPs can help local manufacturing industries enhance their position in the global value chain, attract green investment capital, and maintain Ho Chi Minh City's competitiveness in the transition towards net zero emissions.

The implementation of the NZIP model will help the industry reduce emissions at the appropriate scale and speed to achieve this goal. Ho Chi Minh City can affirm its pioneering position in the region in reducing carbon emissions in production, where innovation and cooperation play a key role in promoting sustainable economic growth".
