Mitsubishi Power upgrades boiler system for O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant

    On November 5, Mitsubishi Power was awarded a contract to support the project to convert fuel from oil to natural gas at O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant.

    Mitsubishi Power, an energy solutions brand of Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, Ltd. (MHI), will provide the main equipment including gas hoses for the boiler as the core part of the system, taking advantage of the technological strength as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the current boiler system, in the fuel conversion project, and contributing to reducing CO2 emissions.

    Mitsubishi Power will also install a de catalysts (SCR) system to help remove NOx (nitric oxide) in emissions, helping the plant meet environmental regulations more strictly in the future.

    O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant consists of two units, each with a capacity of 330 MW, and was put into operation in 2009 and 2015, respectively, with a total capacity of 660 MW. The entire main equipment system of the factory is provided by Mitsubishi Power.

    Mitsubishi Power supplies M701JAC gas turbine to O Mon 4 Thermal Power Project

    On September 8, Mitsubishi Power, an energy solutions brand under Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group, Ltd. (MHI), has just announced the signing of a cooperation contract with Doosan Enerbility Co. to provide two new generation M701JAC gas turbines and auxiliary equipment for the O Mon 4 Mixed-C rotation Gas turbine Power Plant. The contract was signed in August 2025. O Mon 4 factory, with a designed capacity of 1,155 MW, is invested by the Vietnam National Industry - Energy Group.
