Vietnam's mobile application ecosystem is developing strongly. With a population of more than 100 million people who are knowledgeable about technology, competitive development costs and a rapidly growing digital economy, Vietnam is becoming a center of innovation in the region.
As of January 2025, the country has had more than 24,600 launched applications, an increase of 8,500 applications compared to the same period last year, recording impressive growth, surpassing the mark of 7,300 applications, with an annual growth rate of 12.7%.
At the same time, the domestic programming force increased by 25%, showing a vibrant but also competitive market. This is a solid foundation to turn Vietnam into a strategic destination for technology companies, including Rounds.
On June 17, in Ho Chi Minh City, Rounds - a company specializing in acquiring and optimizing mobile applications using machine learning technology - officially announced its entry into the Vietnamese market. At the same time, the company is committed to investing 20 million USD in the Vietnamese market in 2025.
This investment, mainly focusing on applications outside the gaming field, will be implemented through a separate investment fund for the Vietnamese market. This move marks an important step forward in supporting and promoting the development of a dynamic and rapidly growing programming ecosystem in Vietnam.
According to the leader of this technology company, Rounds has acquired both app development companies and individual apps, with transaction values ranging from 50,000 USD to 15 million USD. The company focuses on Android and iOS apps outside of gaming, especially utility and tool applications - areas that match its global strengths.
After the acquisition, the applications are optimized and expanded globally through machine learning technology systems and automated processes to improve performance, increase revenue and user experience.
Although it has been transacting in Vietnam for the past few years, its official presence in Vietnam and establishment of a local team demonstrates Rounds' long-term commitment to Vietnam.
